Summer Camp Counselor
Summer Camp Counselors! Do you love working with children? Spend time outdoors, visit the pool, and go on field trips with our campers! Join Extended Day Services' Summer Camp team!
Competitive Rate: $14-17 per hour!
Signing Bonus: $500 signing bonus for new summer staff!
Referral Bonus: Additional $200 bonus for you AND $200 for your friend for each new referral!
Summer Camp Counselors work with small groups (not more than 12 children) on STEAM activities, swimming, field trips, sports, cooking, art, and team building. We offer a structured program for our students and provide our teachers with detailed plans and all supplies needed each week. So, no additional planning time required from our teachers! This is great experience for those who wish to work with children in the future!
Our staff usually work 3-4 days (30-40 hours) per week. Staff work Monday-Friday, no weekends! We offer flexible schedules for our staff with low student / teacher ratios so you can get to know your children. We value our staff and try to make your summer experience as enjoyable and flexible as possible. We understand that teachers need to take vacation time during the summer, and we can accommodate time off.
Successful applicants will:
· Enjoy working with school-aged children
· Work with Program Director and fellow teachers to implement daily lesson plans
· Be creative problem solvers
· Create a warm and caring environment for children of all abilities
· Work to create a fun and meaningful experience for children
· Be flexible, fun, and energetic
· Enjoy participating in a variety of STEAM, teambuilding, and field games with children
· Be punctual and dependable
· Have at least one year of experience (1250 hours) working with children (babysitting, teaching, volunteering, etc.) and a high school diploma
Teachers with 1 year of experience begin at $17 per hour with opportunities to advance into a full-time school-year position with additional salary and benefits if interested.
Positions available in several local school districts including Canon-McMillan, Chartiers Valley, Keystone Oaks, Plum Borough, Peters Township, South Fayette, South Park, and Upper St. Clair.
