Preschool Teacher

Summerfield Academy is an exceptional and unique preschool in Spring, Texas serving children six weeks to eleven years of age, celebrating 37 years in the community. Founded in 1985, the academy has been privately owned for 10 years by one of the first students who attended, April Lord Ruzicka. Summerfield Academy is one of the longest standing, privately owned, preschools in the community. It's known for its quality of care, expansive curriculum, open floor plan, low student to teacher ratios and staff turnover rate, beautiful playground and fantastic reputation within the surrounding areas.

At Summerfield Academy, it always has and always will be about the children. They learn through active exploration and involvement in a thematic, literature-based curriculum. Each age group has its own literature-based curriculum specifically geared to the age-appropriate developmental skills of children. The teachers select books on which to develop the lesson theme and utilize the stories to present concepts pertinent to the class. Incorporated in the curriculum are opportunities for music, creative art, learning centers, directed activities, and outdoor fun.

Summerfield teachers facilitate the learning process by creating a wide variety of environments for your child to explore and experience, building year over year. They are committed to providing a developmentally appropriate educational program where children feel safe and loved. Teachers strive to teach the “whole” child, the social, emotional, physical and intellectual.
