Goodell Gardens & Homestead is currently accepting applications for Events Organizer.
The Events Organizer is the primary contact for Special Events and Private Rentals, and oversees booking, planning, coordination, set-up, clean-up, and production of Special Events (including but not limited to fundraisers and festivals) and Private Rentals (weddings, showers, private parties, etc.) at Goodell Gardens & Homestead.
Goodell Gardens & Homestead is a public garden, accredited arboretum, and community gathering space located in beautiful Edinboro, Pennsylvania. This rapidly growing nonprofit organization creates beautiful gardens and natural spaces where people visit to Enjoy, Gather, Learn, and Refresh. The Events Manager role is essential to the growth of Goodell Gardens & Homestead, with room for growth as our organization grows.
Qualifications:
Pleasant demeanor
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle transactions
Customer service, sales, or reception experience
Available to work Friday evenings, Saturdays, and some Sundays and weekdays
Must possess or be eligible for clearances: Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Report, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Criminal History Report (clearances paid for by Goodell)
Status: Non-exempt, part-time, hourly position
Season: Year-Round: 20 hours/week April 15 – November 15, 10 hours/week November 15 – May 15
May - October Work Schedule: Hybrid schedule, with required on-site hours including: Saturdays approx. 8 am – 5 pm, Friday Evenings until close, some weekday, evening, and weekend availability required for special events; other hours flexible as needed.
November - April Work Schedule: Hybrid schedule, flexible as needed. Some evening and weekend availability required.
Probationary Period of 90 days from first day of work
Hourly Wage: $14-16/hour to start
Benefits:
Eligibility for Overtime at 1.5x for each hour over 40 hours worked per week = immediately
Paid Bereavement Leave up to three days available after one month of service
Paid Holidays after one year of service
Paid Time Off = 5 days (20 hours total) of PTO after one year of service
Eligible for participation in a retirement program after one year of service.
