Assistant Gardener
Sparrow Gardens is a fine gardening company based in Barnstable, MA. We are looking to hire an experienced gardener on a part-time basis to assist the lead gardener in installing, maintaining, and rejuvenating the beautiful gardens under our care.
Responsibilities include weeding, deadheading, seasonal planting of annuals, pruning small shrubs, new plant installations, container and bulb planting, mulching, edging, pest and disease management, and watering as needed. Job is seasonal, April-early December. Work schedule is 2-3 days per week, 9-5, no weekends.
Skills needed:
The ability to work in all weather conditions
The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Knowledge of plant material and perennial maintenance
A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team
Have own transportation to work site when required
