Service Technician
FULL TIME HVAC SERVICE TECHNICIAN NEEDED IN CRESTED BUTTE, CO
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
(1) HVAC Certification
(2) Nate Certification Preferred or Working Towards
(3) EPA Refrigeration License (Section 608 Technician Certification)
(4) VALID Drivers License; Clean Criminal Background & Driving Record
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
(1) Has knowledge of the installation of heating, ventilation & air conditioning systems, electrical system, construction procedures.
(2) Has strong oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, time management, as well as documentation & organization skills.
(3) Has general technical competence with ipad/iphone/laptop used for daily work orders, service software & manufacturer's websites.
(4) Has the ability to perform work involving physical strength, endurance, to withstand exposure to variable weather conditions.
(5) Has skill in the use of common hand tools & equipment for the activity assigned.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
(1) Assists with scheduling service by interacting with customers on a timely basis; keeps paperwork, work orders, time sheets & service data updated & organized.
(2) Will effectively test, troubleshoot & diagnose problems in the field.
(3) Ensures that duties are handled effectively & correctly with positive results.
(4) Provides customer satisfaction through courteous & efficient service and follow up.
(5) Assists in the installation of HVAC equipment (Installs forced air heat systems including gas fired furnaces, rectangular duct, round pipe & flex, type & gas vent & PVC vent pipe, & general ventilation, including ERV's, dryer vents, bath fan vents & range vents.
(6) Assists with the implementation of any possible service software.
(7) Assists fellow employees in sheet metal shop.
(8) Promote future business & equipment sales.
(9) Organizes & maintains proper truck inventory of parts needed & anticipates needs for jobs. Keeps service truck clean & maintained. Maintains a safe and secure work environment.
(10) Communication Skills:
a. Effectively communicates in the English language, both orally & written, as well as visually through the use of drawings, tables, & lists.
b. Reads and understands installation and operating manuals and guides.
c. Works with vendors on ordering service parts and supplies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
(1) Is able to lift 75 pounds off the ground & 40 pounds above the head
(2) Is physically able to perform assigned tasks in a crawlspace, on a step ladder & extension ladder, & on a roof.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Small Sheet Metal/HVAC shop in the small mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado. Must be able to work and drive in winter conditions.
