HVAC Journeyman/Sheet Metal Worker
FULL TIME HVAC JOURNEYMAN NEEDED IN CRESTED BUTTE, CO
1) Installs Residential and Commercial Forced Air Heating Systems from start to finish, including the ductwork, equipment, controls and venting. Supervises employees throughout the installation of these systems, coordinates with general contractor and other sub-contractors.
2) Measures, fabricates and installs all types of sheet metal fittings.
3) Ensures all walk-in customers are promptly greeted. Takes fabrication orders from customers, fabricates and delegates orders.
4) Works with customers to design custom sheet metal. Fabricates and installs custom sheet metal, including countertops, wall caps and other specialty items.
5) Installs venting ductwork in homes including range vents and make up air, bath fans, dryer vents, crawl space ventilation, air to air heat exchangers and gas fireplaces.
6) Measures, fabricates and installs metal chase covers and chase tops; this requires roof work.
7) Fabricates and installs commercial kitchen ventilation systems, hoods and makeup air.
8) May assist in performing service on appliances installed by Dragon Sheet Metal and on those not installed by Dragon Sheet Metal.
9) Measures fab and installs crickets; this requires roof work.
10) Measures fab and installs gutters.
11) Cleans and organizes shop, storage area and truck.
(10) Communication Skills:
a. Effectively communicates in the English language, both orally; written, as well as visually through the use of drawings, tables; lists.
b. Reads and understands installation and operating manuals and guides.
c. Works with vendors on ordering service parts and supplies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
(1) Is able to lift 75 pounds off the ground & 40 pounds above the head
(2) Is physically able to perform assigned tasks in a crawlspace, on a step ladder; extension ladder; on a roof.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Small Sheet Metal/HVAC shop in the small mountain town of Crested Butte, Colorado. Must be able to work and drive in winter conditions.
