Mental Health Therapist
Job description
NxtStep Counseling is looking for provisional mental health therapists to join the team! In this role, you will provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy, helping clients learn and implement effective ways of coping. This role requires someone who is welcoming, vibrant, culturally competent, and has a passion for assisting those in need to become the best versions of themselves.
Therapist Duties and Responsibilities
-Conduct regular online/in-person appointments with clients in need of therapeutic intervention
-Establish positive and trusting relationships with clients
-Implement various treatments and protocols, appropriately addressing client needs
-Continually assess client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatments
-Maintain the strictest confidentiality of each and every client situation
-Maintain all required licenses and the appropriate insurance
Therapist Requirements and Qualifications
-Minimum of a Master�s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field
-Provisionally or fully licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina
-Credentialing with Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and Optum/United Healthcare preferred
-1-2 years of clinical experience, ideally working directly with clients
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to actively listen
-Solid relationship-building capabilities
-A positive and compassionate attitude
-Keen attention to detail
-Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize needs
-Willingness to stay updated on new treatments, protocols, and licensure requirements within the field
-Passion for advancing the therapy field
-Ability to work independently or as part of a team
