After School Counselor
Therrapeutic Afterschool Counselor
Sustainable Family Services is looking to hire a Therapeutic Afterschool Counselor. Applicants should be self-motivated and disciplined while demonstrating strong abilities to work with groups of children ages 4-17. This position requires work with children, adolescents, and their families.
Students in the program may have behavioral issues, a mental health diagnosis, or are unable to maintain placement in a typical schooling program
Monday-Friday, 2p-7p (Summer Hours M-F 8:30am to 4pm)
$15 (and up based on education and experience)
Contract Work, 1099 Employee
Background screen and fingerprints required (but covered by employer)
Create engaging and fun activities, facilitate games with therapeutic objectives
Must be okay working/playing outside
This is a very active, fast-paced position with very energetic clients
Act as program liaison for parents and students
Work with new students to assimilate into Therapeutic Afterschool Program
Coordinate clean-up and prep of space and activities
On site training and support provided
Therapists have an opportunity to provide counseling to clients, receive supervision toward licensure, and carry a small caseload via in-person counseling or telehealth if they choose
Three Buildings with Therapy spaces, Therapy Chickens, Gardens, Community Free Fridge on-site
