We have 1 spot available at our half day preschool. This preschool is in the heart of Mableton in Cobb County. Duties:

-Reports to Assistant Director/Director

- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times

- Ensure a safe environment including inspection of materials and classroom objects

- Assist co-teacher with daily set up and preparation of activities

- Implement portions of the daily program along with co-teacher

- Remain active with the children which may require getting on their level

- Practice positive discipline in regard to classroom/behavior management

- Assist in keeping the classroom, storage areas, and bathrooms clean, neat, orderly, and sanitized

- Attend weekly classroom team meetings (for planning, gathering supplies, sanitizing toys, classroom cleaning, etc.)

- Clean and sanitize classroom daily

- Plan, carry out, and submit meeting notes to Director of weekly classroom team meetings (may include discussion of behavior management, curriculum planning, gathering supplies, sanitizing toys and materials, etc.)

- Attend monthly staff meetings.

- Attend at least 10 hours of in-service training per school year.

-Be familiar with state regulations.

-Be familiar with GELDS (Georgia Early Learning Standards)

- Be familiar with the program policies of Mt. Harmony WEE.

-Abide by set work hours, 8:30am-1:30pm.

- Assist co-teacher with planning curriculum for the children in the classroom that is developmentally appropriate and helps children develop physical, cognitively, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. (lesson plans due into director by Thursday of each week).

- Ensure regular observation of children throughout the year.

-Prepare children for monthly fire drills and severe weather drills.

-Decorate the classroom in accordance with church policies.

-Communicate with parents via email and/or semi-annual meetings to discuss children’s growth and development using approved progress report forms.

Requirements:

-Experience with children (i.e. mom, nanny, previous teaching of any age, paraprofessional)

-Able to pass a background check

-Able to lift up to 50 pounds

-Friendly demeanor-can deal with multiple situations at once.

-Ability to have a good relationship and rapport with peers and co-lead a classroom
