Seeking a Small Business Book Keeper / Accountant / Admin to join our team!

Remote: This position needs to be in local MN. We are located in Lindstrom but anywhere in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Suburb area will work so we can connect in person every couple of weeks to months, depending on how things are going, but 90% of it can be online via phone, zoom calls, email, and text.

Pay Rate: $18/hour Paid weekly or Bi-weekly.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.

Track hours for contract workers,

Working with our insurance broker to send out and keep track of insurance.

Keep up to date with state requirements for a construction business.

Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets

Perform audits, ensuring contract workers have hours documented, W9s completed, and insurance information turned in.

Report analysis and findings to the management team
​Qualifications:

Previous experience in accounting, small businesses, or other related fields
Fundamental knowledge of Quickbooks
Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
Detail and deadline-oriented
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Commitment: We are looking for someone willing to stick around for 1-2 years minimum. It takes too much to train someone and allow them sensitive info to have them move on. Due to the sensitive information that is involved, we will require you to sign legal forms with our lawyer.

Background: My husband does construction and hires contract workers. Currently, he has 3-6 men who come and go as they are able to put in hours. My name is ****. For the last two years, I have been helping with administration/accounting ect. Alongside some help from Arlyce Cleveland Accounting firm to help verify and close the books every month or two. However, we recently had some impactful changes in our family, plus I have my own full-time job. I am getting behind and realize I cannot commit to what is needed to stay on top of the admin requirements. I will be the one hiring and helping to train the new contract worker as I transition myself out of the role. I will still be readily available to help and guide going forward, but I am choosing to spend more time with family.

Time Commitment: This is a part-time gig. Initially, the training and work to straighten out the accounts will take some extra time; however, going forward, it will require approximately 3-6 hours per week.

As part-time contract work, we do not provide insurance.
