Preschool Teacher

Part Time Preschool Teacher $17.50-$20.00/hour

Hopmeadow Nursery School, a small play-based nursery school in Simsbury, is seeking part time co-teachers for our 4 year old preschool group and our 3 year old preschool group.

The 4 year old co-teacher position is Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8:30 -11:45, working with a group of up to 12 children with a co-teacher.

The 3 year old co teacher position is Tuesday & Thursday 8:30 -11:45, working with a group of up to 12 children with a co-teacher and a teacher's assistant.

Combination 3s and 4s co-teacher: combines the hour of the 2 positions above.

More hours are available 11:45-1:15 for Lunch Bunch/ extended days. Additional hours may be available as a sub or floater.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: preparing and maintaining interest areas for daily activities; collaboratively planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum; providing an inviting and nurturing learning environment; observing and documenting children's progress; supervision and safety of all children in the group; communicating with parents; maintaining the classroom; and participating in monthly staff meetings.

Minimum qualifications/requirements:

Must be at least 20 years of age.

Must be willing to work towards approval by OEC as a Head Teacher.

Must have or be willing to obtain current first aid and CPR training.

Must successfully pass all background checks in accordance with OEC requirements.

Child Development Association Credential (CDA) or 12 college credits in ECE preferred but not required.
