Description: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Mock Trial Instructor to join our high school's extracurricular program. This part-time position involves leading students through the intricacies of simulated court proceedings, preparing them for competitions, and fostering a deep understanding of legal processes and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classroom sessions twice a week, focusing on developing students' understanding of trial procedures, courtroom etiquette, and legal strategies.
  • Guide students in case analysis, witness preparation, and argument formulation.
  • Organize and oversee practice trials to simulate competition conditions.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance students' presentation and debating skills.
  • Collaborate with the team to select and analyze case materials suitable for competitions.
  • Mentor students to develop teamwork, confidence, and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in mock trial coaching, legal practice, or courtroom advocacy.
  • Strong understanding of trial procedure and legal principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with high school students effectively.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in a competitive environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Schedule and Compensation:

  • Twice-a-week commitment (days TBD based on availability).
  • Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
