Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Field Engineer / Technician to join our team. This role involves a mix of fieldwork and technical expertise, focusing on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and electrical control systems across the water and wastewater, as well as renewable energy industries. As a part of our team, you will be assisting in the design, programming, installation, and maintenance of control systems that are vital for efficient and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PLC Programming & Troubleshooting: Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other brands). You will be working hands-on to optimize system performance, making sure equipment is running safely and efficiently.
  • Electrical Control Systems Installation: Install, configure, and test electrical control systems. This includes working with variable frequency drives (VFDs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), relays, and instrumentation.
  • System Commissioning & Start-Up: Travel to client sites to assist in the commissioning and start-up of control systems. You will be responsible for ensuring systems are set up correctly, safely, and perform as intended.
  • On-Site Diagnostics & Repair: Visit customer locations to troubleshoot and repair system issues. 
  • Technical Support & Client Training: Provide remote or on-site technical support to clients, assisting them in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting their systems. You may also assist in conducting training sessions to ensure clients can effectively use their control systems.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met. You will be an integral part of project teams, offering insights on control system design, automation, and process improvements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Keep thorough records of your work, including service reports, project documentation, and equipment configurations. This documentation will be critical for future maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and comply with industry regulations. You will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment both on client sites and in our facilities.
