Job Description

Join our exciting and dynamic Party Baby team as a Driver & Event Setup and Teardown Specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to meet at Party Baby storage locations in Burien/Normandy Park area to load/unload party equipment into Party Baby cargo van(s).
  • Drive a large cargo van (Sprinter), regular van (Metris), and rented U-Hauls to and from events (up to 30 miles each way, including freeway driving and tight neighborhoods). Required.
  • Set up applicable party equipment at client venues. This can be at their home, community centers, restaurants, hotels, country clubs, professional sports events, etc. This generally takes up to two hours.
  • Confirm setup and layout of the package with Party Baby leadership.
  • Take photos and videos of before/after setup for social media purposes.
  • Flexibility during events: Events generally last four hours, and there is a break during the party (less driving time). There may be the option to have a break, or return to the storage area to prep, clean, and/or organize products until the completion of the event. We also have double bookings that can require multiple events on one day.
  • Upon completion of the event, tear down party equipment and load it back into the Party Baby cargo van.
  • Occasionally engage with kids aged 0-5 and their families during set up or tear down periods.
  • Ensure timely and professional event execution. This is a critical component to the success of our events.
  • For those events that require attendants (e.g., Bubble Houses), which is our most popular product, you will stay on-site for the event to run and supervise the Bubble House (training provided). This will be scheduled in advance.
  • Candidates must be comfortable being assigned events in various locations, primarily in the greater Seattle/Bellevue/Tacoma areas, and on rare occasions, events 30-40 miles away.

Requirements:

  • Driving experience: Previous documented experience driving similar vehicles (large cargo vans, Sprinters, regular vans, rented U-Hauls).
  • Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Dependability and Reliability: Our events are dependent upon the commitments of our staff. While emergencies do happen, any call-outs run the risk of cancelling events and disappointing our clients, who often depend on Party Baby as the "main event" for their parties. To maintain our 5-star rating, candidates must be dependable and reliable. As such, any signs of tardiness or cancellations will not be tolerated.
  • Availability on Saturdays and Sundays. Required.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs (a cart is provided for heavier items).
  • Professional, personable, and reliable.
  • Comfortable working under pressure to set up before guests arrive.
  • Must commit to at least 6 active days per month.
  • Drivers will get preferred availability in scheduling.

  • This is a part-time, weekend (Saturday and Sunday) position. We require our team members to work a minimum of 4 shifts per month. Can you commit to working at least 4 shifts (Saturdays and/or Sundays) per month?
  • One of the required duties for this role is driving a Party Baby cargo van and/or rental cargo van to and from Party Baby events as well as our storage facility. This can require driving up to 30 miles each way, from Everett to Tacoma, including freeway driving and navigating tight neighborhoods. Are you willing, able, and comfortable driving a cargo van to and from Party Baby events and/or our storage facility?
