Coordinates closely with the church committees and officers

Work schedule
 

20 hours per week 

Objective
 

Develops, directs, and executes all First Church office administration and communications

Responsibilities
 

Develop, curate, distribute, and post content for social media platforms and the church website, as well as print materials supporting the church covenant and strategic plan.

Welcome office visitors and provide timely responses to inquiries, whether in person, by telephone, by email, or other communication platform

Maintain, update, and distribute calendars for church programs, activities, worship, facility use, and meetings.

Maintain and update the church website, Facebook pages, and Instagram

Coordinate and collaborate with the live stream team to file and distribute video messages and other communications

Prepare worship bulletins for Sunday and special services

Create weekly newsletter and worship announcement documents

Maintain and update as needed church membership database, records of baptisms, marriages, and deaths

Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Administration to coordinate and schedule church facilities use for church activities and rentals in accordance with the church covenant and strategic plan

Serves as the point person for marketing First Church property rentals and other uses

Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Administration to market, contract for, organize, manage, and oversee supervision of rental of church facilities

Work with leadership to develop the capacity to call on volunteers to help with specific church activities and tasks

Participate in office staff meetings

Oversee and ensure smooth completion of office administrative functions (copying, mailing, and the like)

Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive church information, spoken, electronic, and written.

Qualifications required
 

Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree and at least one year’s experience in non-profit administration

Proficiency in relevant software programs (word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, video, database, etc.)

Familiarity with using social media for communication

Track record of successful problem-solving and project management

Desirable qualifications
 

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a field related to communications

Skill and experience with audio and video production

Experience with public relations for a non-profit organization
