PERSONAL BELIEF & BEHAVIOR

  • Must be a born-again Christian (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:23) whose lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Scriptures, and express agreement with the Statement of Faith, doctrinal positions, and Christian lifestyle requirement of the school.
  • Must manifest by precept and example the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (1 Timothy 4:12) to students (Luke 6:40), both in and out of school, and as an example to parents and fellow faculty members in judgment, dignity, respect, and Christian living. 
  • Must faithfully attend a local church whose fundamental beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith of FBCA (Hebrews 10:24-25).
  • Must understand and loyally endorse First Baptist Christian Academy’s purposes, objectives, aims, standards, and doctrines
  • Must give testimony that he/she believes that working in the assigned position at First Baptist Christian Academy represents good stewardship of his/her talents, and that the employee believes that being an employee and minister of Christian education at First Baptist Christian Academy is pleasing to God and consistent with God’s direction for his/her life.
  • Must be qualified through education and experience to fill his/her respective position and perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must possess sufficient biblical knowledge to enable the teacher to integrate Scripture into subjects taught, thus imparting to the students a biblical worldview position.

PROFESSIONAL

  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Maintain current child CPR and first aid certification or be willing to participate in a program to complete certification within a specified time period.
  • Must be effective in maintaining appropriate discipline.
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to properly use the English language. 
  • Possess evidence of background or experience appropriate to the designated tasks as determined by theadministration.
  • Work cheerfully under the authority of the Early Learning Academy Director, Principal, Head of School and School Board.
  • Work to maintain positive working relationships with staff and parents.  Avoids gossip.

  • Effective multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Possess physical stamina required to fulfill the professional obligations of the teaching profession and their specific assignment as described in Physical Characteristics Chart associated with professional positions. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to schedule and other changes.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion.
