Job Title: Childcare Teacher / Early Childhood Educator

Job Summary: As a childcare teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate the development and education of young children. You will plan and implement age-appropriate activities, provide basic care needs, and support children in their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement lesson plans and activities that promote the holistic development of children, including language, literacy, math, science, art, music, and social skills.
  2. Child Supervision: Provide attentive supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, both indoors and outdoors.
  3. Individualized Support: Recognize and accommodate the individual needs and developmental levels of each child, including those with special needs or learning challenges.
  4. Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress, behaviors, and any concerns or milestones.
  5. Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel comfortable, respected, and encouraged to explore and learn.
  6. Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations and policies, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, administering first aid when necessary, and promoting healthy habits.
  7. Documentation and Assessment: Keep accurate records of children's progress, behaviors, and achievements through observations, assessments, and developmental portfolios.
  8. Professional Development: Stay updated on best practices, early childhood education trends, and relevant research through ongoing professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. An Associate’s degree or relevant certification may be accepted.
  2. Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting.
  3. Strong understanding of child development theories and early childhood education principles.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and parents.
  5. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  6. First Aid and CPR certification (may be required depending on location).
  7. Background check and clearances as required by local regulations.
