Pinched on the River Cafe is a cozy cafe connected to a vibrant fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant. We pride ourselves on offering exceptional coffee and a welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team and help create an outstanding experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

Coffee Preparation:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty beverages, according to standardized recipes.
• Grind coffee beans, steam milk, and operate espresso machines with precision and care.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
• Engage with customers, providing information about menu items and making recommendations.
• Ensure a positive and friendly experience for every customer, addressing any questions or concerns promptly.

Order and Payment Processing:

• Take customer orders efficiently, both for coffee and To Go food items from the connected Mediterranean restaurant.
• Accurately process payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash and card transactions.
• Issue receipts and provide any necessary change.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Keep the coffee bar and equipment clean and organized, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of coffee machines and equipment.
• Ensure the cafe area is tidy, including tables, chairs, and counters.

Stock Management:

• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
• Restock items as needed and inform management of any shortages or supply needs.
• Assist with the receipt and storage of deliveries.

Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with other staff members, including those from the connected Mediterranean restaurant, to ensure seamless service.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate orders and maintain a smooth workflow.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar role is a plus.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment operation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
