Position Description – Warehouse Fall Intern 
(part-time hourly)

The Warehouse Intern will assist the Operations Team in conducting the daily activities of the warehouse and food handling process and perform general warehouse tasks at the Food Distribution Hub in Aurora, IL. The Warehouse Intern reports to and is supervised by the Director Food Logistics. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Receiving, sorting, stocking, rotating and distributing incoming grocery items in the warehouse, freezer and cooler
• Loading and unloading trucks on the dock
• Wrapping pallets for transportation 
• Maintaining cleaning, sanitation and safe food handling standards in the warehouse and food storage areas
• Organizing grocery items in the cooler and/or freezer
• Preparing vendor equipment for return
• Engaging and interacting with volunteers

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and full range of motion in bending, lifting and general movement
• College student with a major/minor in community health, health science, nutrition science, health and wellness or related field 
• Basic competency on computer (email, Excel data entry)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Possess good listening skills and follow directions attentively
• Collaborate effectively with the team
• Accurate and timely task completion

$15/hour

IDEAL SCHEDULE:

Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm 

OR 

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 – 2:00
