Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant / Manager to join our Client's Private Accounting / Tax firm that specializes in Accounting, Tax preparing as well as Tax projections and planning services to Small / Medium size businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting, Tax Returns for Corporation / Individual, as well as provide strategic guidance / advice to diverse industry businesses.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management and oversight of client relationships
  • Facilitate effective and profitable client workflow
  • Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare and review financial statements for small businesses
  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
  • Prepare budgets
  • Maintain and prepare 1099 filings
  • Prepare sales and use tax returns
  • Prepare tangible tax returns
  • Limited tax research to include Federal and State notice resolution
  • Prepare tax projections and provide tax planning services
  • Provide strategic guidance and advice to clients in diverse industries by gaining a solid understanding of their financial needs
  • Mentor colleagues

Desired Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics:

Work experience:

  • Public accounting (required)
  • 5+ years

Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or tax
  • Active CPA/EA license or CPA eligible is preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledgebase in accounting and tax principles
  • Understanding of filing requirements and deadlines for income tax returns, sales tax returns, tangible returns, and payroll tax returns
  • Strong:

Technology:

  • Proficient in tax software (Thompson Reuters UltraTax Preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
