The equipment technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of agricultural machinery and equipment. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning and safety of agricultural equipment used in farming and related operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in agriculture manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and scheduled repairs on tractors, harvesters, plows, and other farming machinery.
  • Replace defective parts and components, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct tests and performance checks to ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards.
  • Keep detailed records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with the farm operations team to prioritize and address equipment maintenance needs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and practices while performing repair work.
  • Stay updated on new equipment models, technology, and industry best practices.
  • Perform duties in a timely and cost-effective manner to minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in equipment mechanics is a plus.
  • Proven experience in repairing and maintaining agriculture manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, engines, electrical systems, and welding.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment components.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
