Growing New Jersey beverage company seeks route sales professionals. This progressive and innovative company maintains an extensive non-alcoholic and alcohol portfolio with a concentration on boutique and craft spirits and fine wines from around the world. The route is well established and covers several counties.

Essential Position Results:

  • Calls on accounts and covers daily routes by creating an established and efficient routing pattern.
  • Analyzes entire account base by visiting each account and determining the specific needs of the individual accounts.
  • Establishes sales and merchandising objectives relative to brand priority for each account by understanding company priorities.
  • Prepares and presents professional sales presentations to customers by combining both the company’s priorities and customers’ needs.
  • Understands company pricing and product programming information on a monthly basis by maintaining accurate and up to date records.
  • Ensures maximum brand visibility within accounts by using effective point of sale materials when appropriate.
  • Organizes special events to maximize brand visibility within accounts by promoting specific brands to accounts customer base.
  • Collects payments by accepting checks or other remittance.
  • Communicates with management as to needs of specific accounts by maintaining organized territory and account records.
  • Maintains professional relationships with all suppliers by participating in effective supplier work with sales calls.
  • Attends and actively participate in sales meetings by asking questions relative to current supplier activities.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting in special projects as needed.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education, Certifications and /or licenses:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to hold a NJ Solicitor’s Permit required.
  • Clean driver’s license.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year in route sales OR beverage industry related experience is required. Resumes without BEVERAGE or ROUTE SALES experience will not be considered.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • An understanding of beer, wine and spirits is required. Individuals with strong accounting, computer, customer service and interpersonal expertise preferred.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office, e-mail and other various computer systems.
  • Must be a results oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pays attention to detail and meet deadlines.
