SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications. The QA Inspector must also monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards, recommend adjustments to the process or assembly, inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced and help assist the QA Manager in promoting ISO procedures and process throughout the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Performs incoming inspection of purchased goods

· Performs incoming/outgoing inspection reports

· Handles supplier rejections

· Enters internal Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)

· Calibrates company and employee owned equipment

· Maintains the calibration log

· Performs daily material tests

· Validate and creates Certificates of Conformance (CoC) for outgoing product

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or GED

· AutoCAD helpful but not required

· Machine shop skills

· Knowledge of ISO 9000:2015 helpful but not required

· Ability to work with mutable computer programs at once

QUALIFICATIONS:

A qualified candidate would have a basic understanding of the machines and of the working properties of the various materials used in the manufacturing of Kastalon products.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

· Excellent work standards, attendance, and housecleaning

· Ability use and read measuring equipment (Micrometers, Calipers, Bore gauges)

· Good math skills

· Able to use Excel, Word, Outlook, our ERP system and work with them simultaneously

· Must be detail, process, and goal-oriented

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

· Ability to multitask daily

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to follow oral instructions and read & interpret written documents such as Safety Data Sheets(SDSs), safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, part prints, process documentation, and work center guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

· Work 40-55 hours per week

· Work in a hot environment

· Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

· Wear safety glasses

· Wear steel toe boots (ASTM Standard)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment described here is representative of what an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of his job. When performing the duties of this job (while always adhering to Kastalon safety standards), an employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, is occasionally exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particles, and the average noise level in the shop is moderate. The temperature in this work environment can be very hot.

HOURS:

Training - 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday

Core Hours - 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday

Overtime (when available) - 5:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
