Preschool Teacher

Preschool teachers are responsible for instructing a class of four-year-old early education students with the assistance of a teacher assistant. The teacher will instruct students as required by the curriculum objectives established by the school utilizing differentiated instruction techniques. This position provides care and supervision of students during instructional and non-instructional times throughout the school day. Teachers do everything possible to ensure that all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Model Christ in word and deed.
  • Be a friendly and welcoming presence on campus, in the classroom with students, and during interactions with parents/guardians.
  • Write lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis and submit to administration.
  • Teach entire assigned curriculum including biblical integration.
  • Establish and maintain communication with parents.
  • Serve in assigned faculty duties.
  • Support overall school life. Encourage fellow staff and students.
  • Attend Red Lion Christian Academy staff and department meetings.
  • Attend/participate in applicable school events outside of the normal school day.
  • Participate in professional development to stay current in field.
  • Ensure classroom environment is inviting, well kept, and academically stimulating.
  • Discipline with love and enforce established code of conduct.
  • Know and adhere to the Faculty and Staff Handbook and employee agreement.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Requirements

  • Love for children and called by God to this age group.
  • Cheerful disposition.
  • Associates degree in early education, TECE1 and 2, CDA 1 and 2
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (oral and written) with regard to children, parents, and fellow staff
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and school information systems
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
