Preschool Teacher
1. Each employee at Independence Christian School must have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and must believe that the Bible God’s Word and is the standard for faith and daily living. A person who feels called from God to the teaching profession.
2. Meets the state of California requirements and qualifications for Early Childhood teacher.
3. Must be at least 18 years of age.
4. Has a minimum of one year experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
5. Has at least 12 units of Early Childhood Education. Three units of Infant/Toddler are preferred, but not required.
6. Possesses an ability to interact effectively with parents, peers, and administrative staff.
7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the director may find appropriate.
Reports to: Preschool Director
General Description of Duties:
The preschool teacher is responsible for planning and implementing an appropriate educational program for the children assigned to his/her class, following the guidelines in the school’s approved curriculum. The teacher is also responsible to fulfill assigned duties and tasks, attend 16 hours of in-service per school calendar year, attend designated school events, and abide by the terms and policies of the school as presented in the early education center staff handbook and policy handbook. Perform any other duties, which may be assigned by the administration.
