## Overview
We are seeking a dedicated School Aide to be a one-to-one aide for a 3 year old child with cerebral palsy needing hands on assistance for mobility and function. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with special needs children, and be enthusiastic about contributing to their educational development, therapeutic development, and participation in social and educational activities.

## Duties
- General childcare for safety and participation throughout daily programs and activities
- Diaper changes as needed and potty training
- Provide hands on fine motor assistance for all activities requiring hand and finger use such as drawing, playing, eating, etc.
- Provide hands on gross motor assistance to facilitiate play and participation in activities that require standing, walking, dancing - child will need to be held up and supported for play and walking around the classroom as well as in a playground setting or group activities such as circle time etc.
- Assist with child confidence, behavior, socialization and inclusion - promoting acceptable and positive development
- Collaborate with teachers to ensure a positive and productive learning experience
- Be responsible for child's special/specific gear such as AFO/braces, theratog body suit, hand splints/wraps, supination straps and ensure child is always in a good posture and alignment throughout the day

## Qualifications
- Experience working in a school or educational setting, particularly with children with special needs or cerebral palsy
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques
- Infant/Toddler childcare experience
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with teachers and therapists
- Previous experience in a preschool or classroom environment is advantageous
- Be able to learn and train from child's therapy/medical team on how to hold, walk, position, stretch, or otherwise handle child and promote positive development and progress of the child's treatments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
