PORTLAND, OR (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) - Professional parents seek a LIVE-OUT NANNY to help care for their two boys, ages 8 and 3. Both kiddos are charming, outgoing, active, and advanced communicators.
The eldest is in school until 3 pm and has after-school activities each day. The youngest attends daycare from 8:30 am-5:30 pm. He has after-school activities on Mondays and may enroll in another activity with the support of the nanny. The nanny will be responsible for picking up the children and taking them to/from their after-school activities most days. Must have a valid driver’s license and pristine driving record. A family car will be provided for use while on the job.
The nanny may also be tasked with homework help for the eldest (with a focus on reading skills and math), prepping dinner when mom takes the kids to their activities and light household assistance. Parents are actively involved and enjoy taking their children to and from activities/school but have demanding careers that call for last-minute schedule changes. They seek a nanny who they can depend on to bridge these gaps. They have a part-time household manager who helps with home maintenance and errands two days a week, allowing the nanny to focus primarily on the children.
Core hours are 3-7 pm, Monday through Friday, with an additional date night from 6-11 pm on either Friday or Saturday once a week. Flexibility is crucial, as the parents' schedules can change with just 48 hours notice. They need a candidate who can quickly adapt and step in during these last-minute changes—someone who is comfortable thinking on their feet and embracing the unexpected. They seek a nanny who is professional, mature, reliable, and flexible and can get the job done with little direction. The ideal candidate is someone focused on the children, able to work independently, and comfortable maintaining a low profile. The family prefers a nanny who is calm, composed, and mindful of boundaries, maintaining a quiet presence in the home. They should be proactive, trustworthy, dependable, and an effective communicator with a positive attitude. A background in early elementary education or experience in tutoring, particularly in reading and math, is a plus. Discretion is essential, and candidates must be willing to sign an NDA. Only fully vaccinated candidates will be considered.
Pay is $25-35/hour gross depending on experience. Benefits include paid sick days, vacation and major holidays. Must be open to working school holidays. Start date is ASAP but flexible for the right candidate.
