POSITION OVERVIEW:

Mechanical Helpers are responsible for assisting Mechanical Assemblers in completing daily tasks associated with TAS projects. Mechanical Helpers will gather parts, sub-assemblies, tools, and other materials to complete the assigned task.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learn how to read and follow blueprints or engineered drawings and schematics to assist in the installation and assembly of TAS projects.
• Report defective material or questionable conditions to the department lead and/or supervisor.
• Learn to use hand tools, electronic and pneumatic tooling, to perform manual processes to complete mechanical and sub-assemblies.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Complete tasks as directed by production lead and/or supervisor.
• Other duties as directed by TAS.

• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled, manufacturing environment.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal is required.
• Ability to work as a team player.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• High School diploma or GED

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong interest in pursuing this trade as a career.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work performed in a shop environment;
• Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable;
• Requires normal vision and absence of color blindness
• Physical effort equal to frequent moving of up to 50lbs materials;
• Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach;
• The use of Safety Glasses is required;
• The use of earplugs is recommended;
• Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day (with a lunch in between) and up to 6 days a week;
• Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
• Steel-toe boots required in Manufacturing Facility
