Fermentation Scientist

ina Biosolutions’ protein expression group seeks a scientist for fermentation (E. coli) and protein purification. You will generate novel recombinant proteins using FinaBio’s proprietary E. coli strains. You will perform purifications for complex proteins, solve challenging protein expression and purification processes, and perform protein analysis. We are seeking an energetic, critical thinker who is organized, capable of multitasking, and working independently.

Duties
- Design and carry out protein fermentation.

Perform molecular biology on E. coli.

Carry out fermentation in a bioreactor.

Skills

Knowledge of Basic Protein Chemistry, Protein Chromatography, and Basic Analytical Techniques (HPLC, ELISA, Endotoxin, WB, and SDS-PAGE).

-Basic Molecular Biology (PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, RE digestion, etc).

-Purification process design.

-Experience performing protein chromatography using Akta/Unicorn software.

-Experience with E. coli fermentation in both shake-flasks and a bioreactor.

-Design of Experiment training (preferred).

-Ability to troubleshoot and collaboratively resolve complex problems under tight time constraints.

Qualifications

BS/MS in microbiology, molecular biology or biochemistry with 2+ years’ experience in biopharmaceutical industry or academic lab.
