In an assigned cell, work independently to plan and perform highly intricate and complex deburring and finishing operations. Parts are typically at or near final stages of the manufacturing process, with extremely tight tolerance limits. Typical Duties: Work from drawings, sketches, computer-generated information and verbal instructions to plan the deburring, finishing or re-work operation to be performed. Follow standard finishing applications in order to achieve dimensional integrity and required finish characteristics. Perform precise chamfering operations on parts, without damaging other critical part dimensions. Work from quality review and corrective work documents to repair or rework parts. Use precision measuring instruments in order to gage various critical dimension and tolerance limits, in accordance with established parameters or blueprint requirements. Work independently with support groups, as needed, to address complex problems, or resolve matters. Actively participate in various aspects of lean production and continuous improvement projects that drive efficiency improvements. Support other specialized assignments with the scope and skill level of this position. Identify, recommend, and participate in opportunities to improve environmental, health and safety practices throughout the shop. May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department or cell objectives and to develop individuals’ skills. May be required to train for, obtain skills within other areas, as assigned.
