Job description

Summary

Custom apply plant food products, crop protection products, and operate GPS equipment to the agricultural community; also receive, deliver, and maintain facilities and equipment associated with job. Other requirements are to receive, dry, clean, store, maintain quality and ship grains and beans when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

Custom Application of plant food and crop protection products, operating specialized, vehicle of husbandry equipment that is equipped with computerized GPS systems.

Responsible for facility and equipment; maintenance, general repair and proper cleaning of plant and equipment.

Operating loaders, forktrucks, and other equipment used in the receiving; mixing; pumping; blending or production and distribution of goods sold.

Deliver products sold by plant food division.

Assist elevator plant manager in training and also that safety policies are implemented and followed and that the UCS process is implemented.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise seasonal personnel assigned to your work area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting plant food manager in training employees, planning assigning, and directing work.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one year related experience and/or training.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CDL-A, Commercial Applicator License, Forklift Certificate

Technical Skills

Truck driving skills, Large Equipment operating skills, Computer Skills, Product knowledge of plant food items, crop protection products, Mechanical Skills, and Knowledge of regulations including chemical, fertilizer, environmental, and DOT.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (large rolling and stationary equipment)
