Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast is seeking an outgoing case Human Services professional with a proven track record of building relationships, case management, community outreach, and cultivating new partnerships to lead child and volunteer enrollment in Hardee County.   BBBS Sun Coast is a non-profit Agency that promotes the mentoring relationships between adult Bigs and school-aged Littles for the purpose of igniting the potential in each child served.

Position Purpose:  The primary responsibility of this position is to provide program development in the Wauchula office for Hardee County, lead the mission by interviewing and developing 1-to1 mentoring matches, assist the Program leadership in training, supporting program inititatives, and  cultivating and coordinating community partners for volunteer and youth recruitment and partnership development, and creating successful programs .

Ideal candidate lives in Hardee County, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Service, Human Services, or Education field required; or a combination of education and experience; or 3--5 years of relevant work experience in a related field.

This is not a work-from-home position.

Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus.

The primary responsibility of this position is to drive and lead our agency initiatives in Hardee County by building partnerships with local schools, businesses, and other agencies.

Other responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

  • Provides leadership in the development of a 12-month program calendar for match activities and volunteer trainings
  • Develops and instills a culture of teamwork and positive work environment to promote inclusivity of all members.
  • Assists in tracking individual and team performance through review and analysis of individual and team metrics on a monthly and
  • Greets all customer and stakeholder contacts with an atmosphere of welcoming engagement.
  • Models best practices in relation to agency policies and procedures in supporting clients and volunteers (and parents where required).
  • Works collaboratively with the Program leadership to oversee staff concerns (metric compliance, training, adequate office staffing, DOE & annual audits, staff performance reviews).
  • Assists Program staff with Volunteer and child eligibility determination, match compliance and problem solving.
  • Evaluates and immediately refer crisis counseling to Program supervision.
  • Oversees the coordination of program activities (i.e. recognition events, holiday parties, back-to-school events, mixers, etc.)
  • Supports other service delivery staff to ensure smooth transition among functions.
  • Participates in match activities such as interviews, assessment, and matching Bigs and Littles.
  • Maintains a match caseload according to position function.
  • Strives to exceed all quality and quantity minimum expectations.
  • Provides supplementary intake for client and volunteer applicants (as needed).
  • Conducts client/parent/volunteer annual review of progress/success.
  • Updates Youth Development Outcome Plan (YODP) annually or sooner (if appropriate).
  • Provides in-depth case management consultation, including appropriate resource referrals.
  • Works collaboratively with the team to maximize volunteer recruitment and child outreach.
  • Provides volunteer activities that promote volunteer development and education.
  • Promotes an environment of inclusivity and diversity in the agency culture and community in all facets of activities and interactions
  • Acts as the community liaison with stakeholders (i.e. United Way, Hardee Chamber of Commerce, Hardee County Government, etc.)
