Caregiver
Caregiver Job Description
Duties:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals in need, including seniors and those with disabilities or medical conditions.
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare meals and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Administer medications and assist with medication management.
- Drive clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Monitor and manage behaviors, providing behavior management techniques when necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients.
- Assist with mobility and transfers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and assist with transfers of clients (up to a certain weight limit).
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with dementia care and understanding of the challenges associated with memory loss.
- Ability to follow care plans and adhere to established protocols and procedures.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
