Job Summary:  The Business Development Manager for Mass Market Energy Sales is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth within the mass-market sector. This role requires a proactive individual with experience in the energy industry, strong communication skills, and a thorough understanding of retail electricity and natural gas services.

 Key Responsibilities:

 Strategic Planning: 

  • Assist in developing sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals within the mass market segment.
  • Work with the sales director to align sales goals with the company's overall business objectives.

 Team Support: 

  • Collaborate with sales managers and representatives to execute sales plans effectively.
  • Provide support and guidance to the sales team to ensure consistent performance.

 Market Analysis: 

  • Stay updated on market trends, customer needs, and competitors' activities to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Utilize market data and customer insights to refine sales strategies and product offerings.

 Revenue Growth: 

  • Contribute to setting sales targets and KPIs for the mass market segment and monitor progress.
  • Develop and maintain key client relationships, including partnerships with retail energy providers and channel partners.

 Product Knowledge: 

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the company's retail electricity and natural gas services, including pricing structures and regulatory compliance.
  • Educate the sales team on product features, benefits, and value propositions.

 Sales Process Improvement: 

  • Support the optimization of the sales process to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement best practices, sales tools, and technology solutions to streamline operations.

 Contract Negotiation:

  • Assist in negotiations for contracts with mass-market customers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to finalize agreements.

 Reporting and Analytics: 

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of sales performance dashboards and reports.
  • Communicate sales results and insights to the sales director.

 Compliance and Regulation: 

  • Ensure that all sales activities and contracts comply with industry regulations and legal requirements.
  • Stay up to date on relevant regulations and adjust sales processes as needed.

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience in sales within the retail electricity and natural gas services industry.
  • Understanding of mass market dynamics, including customer segmentation and pricing strategies.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and using CRM and sales management tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
