The AmeriCorps Program Manager oversees the growth, development and execution of WAFCC’s AmeriCorps Programs.  In that capacity they create opportunities to connect AmeriCorps Members with WAFCC Member Clinics and Community Organizations serving uninsured and underserved populations. AmeriCorps Members may be students taking a gap year before medical school, community members working as Community Health Workers, individuals interested in public health, etc. This position is responsible for the overall performance of this program and building strategic partnerships that positively impact community health throughout Wisconsin. 

Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop strategic partnerships in the community for placing AmeriCorps Members for service.
  • Engage in and provide oversight for recruiting VISTA and Public Health AmeriCorps Members for free and charitable clinics and other health related organizations.
  • Collaborate with host site supervisors to ensure compliance with MOUs and VADs and AmeriCorps Members engagement in work supporting the host site.  This includes, but is not limited to: member and host site orientations, managing timesheets, conducting performance reviews, offering educational opportunities and facilitating check-in calls.
  • Provide continuous development of the AmeriCorps programs. Create grant proposals that best meet the needs of AmeriCorps Members. 
  • Develop collaborative relationships with State and National AmeriCorps program Directors and Managers and ensure compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and justify budgets for program areas, set priorities, and monitor expenditures in support of programs and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field or related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff, lead a program (planning, execution, analyze performance management systems, and provide timely and accurate reporting). 
  • Knowledge of budgeting and grant management. 
  • Experience leading, coaching and mentoring. 
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  
  • Working knowledge of Google Suites. 
  • Knowledge of AmeriCorps is a plus.
