Summary

Communications LAB’s Account Manager position is directly responsible for client accounts, acting as the company’s direct interface on client projects and initiatives. The Account Manager provides day-to-day client management, assists on the development of communications and outreach strategy, developing communication strategies and programs, overseeing the development and production promotional materials. In addition, our Account Managers provide comprehensive event production. Depending upon client need, this may include, but is not limited to: pre-event planning, budget and vendor supervision, event marketing, guest management, venue logistics, run of show, stage management and scripting, as well as post-event analysis and reporting.

Role Specific Information

Account Managers within the Association Management Department are assigned to oversee a professional industry or non-profit association under comprehensive administrative management with Communications LAB. In addition to the summary above, Managers in this department are also responsible for interacting with the Board of Directors, committees, and association members. This role, with the help of internal and external support, protects the association’s finances, prepares or facilitates the creation of financial reports, and ensures that annual tax and regulatory reports are filed. 

Occasional travel may be necessary to attend state and national conferences for certain associations under management.

Management of others may be part of this role.

Tasks

  • Oversee and manage all client event plans, logistics, and timelines.
  • Participate and lead, if needed, internal meetings, including regular client meetings, pre-event walk-throughs, on-site meetings, and post-event debriefs.
  • Coordinate and manage event marketing deliverables to meet timeline milestones, including email marketing, social media, and other channels of distribution. 
  • Manage and oversee venue coordination including all vendor logistics and set-up/tear-down.
  • Coordinate content, graphics development, and production of all event collateral.
  • Inspect layouts and copy and edit scripts, audio and video tapes, and other promotional material for adherence to specifications.
  • Assist with reviewing monthly e-newsletters and developing write-ups for upcoming events and member e-news.
  • Plan and prepare material to communicate messages with clients, organization leads, and vendors.
  • Gather and organize information to plan communication campaigns.
  • Confer with clients to provide marketing or technical advice.
  • Direct, motivate, and monitor the mobilization of a campaign team to advance campaign goals.
  • Confer with department heads or staff to discuss topics such as contracts, selection of advertising media, or messages to be advertised.
  • Plan and execute communication policies and strategies for organizations.
  • Identify and develop contacts for campaigns and industry programs that meet identified target markets.
  • Plan and coordinate public meetings on behalf of the client, and represent the client at public meetings to communicate the client’s message.

  • Spreadsheets - Using computer applications to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.
  • Word Processing - Using computer applications to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word-processing documents

Education/Experience:

  • 10 years of related or industry experience preferred 
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Previous management and supervision experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
