Duties and Responsibilities

   Serve as interpreter for People with Limited English Proficiency for different social services settings
   Provide consecutive interpretation between English and Haitian Creole.
   Listen to complete statements in one language, translate to second, and translate responses from second into first language.
   Express either approximate or exact translation, depending on nature of occasion.

Minimum Job Requirements

   High School Diploma or GED.
   At least 3 years of experience Interpreting settings

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

   Fluency in both the Haitian Creole and English languages.
   Ability to read and write both languages.
   Listening skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 20 per week

   English: 5 years (Required)
   Bilingual: 3 years (Preferred)

   New York, NY: Relocate before starting work (Required)
