Our after-school programs are designed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love for the game in a fun and supportive environment.

Job Description:
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic chess coach to join our team and lead after-school chess programs at local schools. As a coach, you will be responsible for managing and teaching groups of up to 16 students in engaging and interactive chess lessons. The ideal candidate will be excellent with kids, organized, and capable of maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

• Lead chess classes for students (up to 16 per class).
• Foster a fun and educational environment while managing group dynamics.
• Provide structured lessons that suit a range of chess skills. (we will share curriculum)
• Encourage students to think strategically and problem-solve.
• Be punctual, reliable, and prepared for each session.
• Travel to various schools in the area (must have reliable transportation).


Requirements:

• Minimum chess rating of 1700-1800 (USCF or FIDE).
• Passion for working with kids and strong classroom management skills.
• Reliable transportation (own car) to drive to schools for classes.
• Availability for weekday afternoons (typically 1-2 hours per day).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage young learners.
• Experience teaching chess is preferred.


Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
