Job Description: Certified Classical Pilates Teacher

Position Overview: We are seeking a certified Pilates teacher with expertise in Classical Mat Pilates based on the principles laid out in 'Return to Life Through Contrology' by Joseph Pilates. The teacher will be responsible for instructing classes at both Level 1/2 and Level 3/4, focusing on delivering high-quality instruction that aligns with the Classical Pilates methodology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.Class Instruction:

        Plan and deliver Classical Mat Pilates classes following the Level 1/2 and Level 3/4 order.

        Provide clear demonstrations and explanations of exercises, ensuring correct form and technique among participants.

        Modify exercises as necessary to accommodate varying skill levels and individual needs.

2.Client Engagement:

        Create a welcoming and motivating atmosphere for clients.

        Offer guidance and feedback to clients to help them progress in their Pilates practice.

        Address client questions and concerns regarding technique, modifications, or general Pilates principles.

3.Class Management:

        Manage class scheduling and attendance.

        Maintain a safe and clean environment conducive to Pilates practice.

        Ensure space is used is properly set up and maintained. (will be trained on room/studio operations)

4.Professional Development:

        Stay current with developments in Classical Pilates methodology and teaching techniques. Practicing your craft is a must. Free classes at studio to maintain/refine your personal practice. 

        Participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

 

Qualifications:

•           Certification as a Classical Pilates Teacher, with training based on Joseph Pilates' method as outlined in 'Return to Life Through Contrology'.

•           Experience teaching Classical Mat Pilates classes at both Level 1/2 and Level 3/4.

•           Strong understanding of anatomy and biomechanics relevant to Pilates exercises.

•           Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively instruct and motivate clients.

•           Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a passion for promoting health and wellness through Pilates.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•           Additional certifications or training in related fields such as anatomy, physiology, or sports science.

•           Experience working with diverse client populations and adapting instruction accordingly.

 

 

****Audition Process****: As part of the application process, candidates will be required to conduct a mock Pilates class as an audition. The mock class should demonstrate your teaching style, ability to lead participants through a structured Pilates session, and your proficiency in explaining and correcting exercises.

 

Working Conditions:

•           Classes will be scheduled for one-hour increments in a studio environment.

•           Positions available with flexibility in scheduling based on client demand.
