Join our Christian-based microschool as a Co-Teacher in our modern one-room schoolhouse. McFalls Academy serve a single, multi-age K–5th grade class of up to 15 students. This unique role is ideal for a confident, self-directed educator who thrives in a close-knit, collaborative setting with minimal oversight.

Our learning model blends progressive education philosophies one-room schoolhouse principles, fostering independence, cross-age collaboration, and hands-on, theme-based learning. Candidates should be familiar with (or eager to learn) alternative or student-centered education approaches and excited to co-create a dynamic, nurturing classroom rooted in Christian values.

Our school follows a 4-DAY SCHOOL WEEK w/Fridays off, providing a balanced and engaging learning experience while supporting both students and teachers with an innovative schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to support student growth and success in a multi-age classroom.
  • Independently lead engaging and inclusive morning meetings for 16 K-5th grade students.
  • Pull skills based groups to teach core math and reading skills.
  • Partner with the lead teacher to design and execute thematic unit studies.
  • Proactively handle additional responsibilities as assigned by the lead teacher or director.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with parents and families.
  • Address concerns and incidents promptly, keeping the lead teacher or director informed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education
  • Ability to work independently and make sound instructional decisions
  • Expertise in classroom management and lesson planning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of childhood development and progressive teaching practices
