We are an independent music studio in Skokie offering private in-person (mostly) and online music lessons. Some are adult students, but most are in the K-12 range. Our piano program is curriculum-based, so we require that you follow method books in concert (Lesson/theory/technique) with scales, repertoire and a classical focus. Some of our students participate in NSMTA and Piano Guild exams. We are filling full and part time positions for teachers and subs. Looking specifically for: piano/voice teachers and piano teachers.

Requirements:

1) a degree in music - preferably performance

2) willingness to follow a curriculum (piano - based on method books, NSMTA AiM and American College of Musicians) - including scale books, too.

3) a fun, yet motivational personality (good with adults or children) Serious inquiries only please.

4) If you mainly teach voice, you must be able to teach piano well (through an intermediate level) to teach and accompany your students. No CD accompaniment. Teachers may receive students interested mainly in pop, but we desire teachers that can help them learn good classical vocal technique, as well as expose them to repertoire.

You must be able to teach in an organized, systematic manner while you hold your students accountable for their work - and with positivity.
