Job Title: Inside Sales Representative

Reports To: Sales Manager

Job Overview: As an Inside Sales Representative at Viking Materials, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers and contributing to our sales team. You will be responsible for managing assigned accounts and assisting with all customer inquiries to foster a positive work environment and help achieve our corporate growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Territory Manager to maintain existing accounts and develop new business opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and prospects to manage daily transactions and address inquiries related to those transactions.
  • Stay informed about the market and provide quotes for non-contract business within one hour of request. Follow up on quotes to secure business or gain insights on any unsuccessful bids.
  • Navigate our inventory system to accurately quote pricing and lead times and ensure proper inventory assignment to sales orders.
  • Enter orders efficiently while understanding processing times and setups as necessary.
  • Follow up on orders to ensure timely shipments, acting as a liaison between the plant, production, and sales teams.
  • Monitor inventory issues for contract accounts and keep the Territory Manager informed.
  • Conduct outreach to inactive and prospective customers to drive engagement and sales.
  • Provide the Territory Manager with regular updates on daily activities within the district.
  • Review the Sales and Cost Journal daily to monitor district profitability.
  • Manage inventory in the shipping warehouse, ensuring it does not exceed 120 days old.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Continuously enhance product knowledge and stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in inside sales or customer service, preferably in the manufacturing or steel industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and order processing systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
