Community Living Counselor – Young Adult Services Willimantic, CT

Young Adult Services (YAS)– Transitional Living House (Willimantic)

The Young Adult Services Program provides a diverse array of services, including clinical, case management, vocational, recreational, transitional living, and housing services, for young adults ages 18-25 who have a diagnosed mental illness and need community-based support services in the Willimantic area. This position will provide individual support and group counseling in a unique transitional living setting, ensuring personalized care and a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to clients, focusing on individual needs and goals.
  • Collaborate with families and other professionals to support clients with developmental and mental health challenges.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.

Community Living Counselor (Young Adult Services: YAS) Schedule:

1st Shift:

  • Part-time (1st Shift): Friday- Monday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (32 Hours)

2nd shift:

  • Full-time (1st Shift): Sunday - Thursday 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm (40 hours per week)
  • Part-time (2nd Shift) Friday & Saturday 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm (16 hours per week)

Community Living Counselor Minimum Requirements 1st and 2nd shift: Associate's degree in human services field, plus two years relevant experience required or Bachelor’s degree in relevant human services field.

Community Living Counselor Minimum Requirements 3rd shift: High school diploma/equivalent, plus four years of appropriate experience.

United Services, Inc., requires all employees agree to be vaccinated against influenza annually during flu season.

Community Living Counselor Salary Range: $18.54 - $20.98 per hour depending on experience.

Bilingual Spanish/English Fluency: $19.48- $22.04 per hour depending on experience.
