Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at a leading paper and plastic manufacturer and distributor. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for driving sales, building and maintaining customer relationships, and promoting our wide range of paper and plastic products to clients across various industries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and a keen interest in the manufacturing and distribution industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Generation:
Identify and target potential clients in need of paper and plastic products.
Engage in cold calling, lead generation, and prospecting to build a strong pipeline of new customers.
Follow up with existing clients to upsell and cross-sell additional products or services.
Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Customer Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
Understand customer needs and provide solutions that meet those needs.
Provide product recommendations and technical support to clients when necessary.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints or issues promptly.
Product Knowledge & Marketing Support:
Maintain a deep understanding of the company’s products, including paper products, plastic packaging, and custom solutions.
Stay up to date with industry trends, new products, and competitor activities.
Assist in the development and execution of sales strategies and marketing campaigns.
Order Processing & Coordination:
Process customer orders and ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
Work closely with the production and logistics teams to coordinate product availability, delivery schedules, and inventory management.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and order history using CRM software.
Prepare regular sales reports for management, detailing progress towards sales goals and identifying areas for improvement.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, operations, and logistics, to ensure smooth sales processes and high customer satisfaction.
Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and industry events to stay informed about new products and market trends.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
A degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build rapport with customers and understand their needs.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed for customer visits and meetings.
Knowledge of the paper and plastic manufacturing/distribution industry is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Occasional lifting of boxes or materials (up to 25 lbs).
Ability to travel locally or regionally as needed.
