Cake-N-Que is a family-owned Food Truck and Catering business, specializing in slow-smoked BBQ and desserts (now the name makes sense, right?) We travel for lunch shifts (Tuesday - Thursday) and we serve customers at for dinner over the weekends, Friday - Saturday (eventually Thursdays & Sundays). A typical work week looks like this:

• Tuesday - Thursday: 10 AM - 2 PM
• Friday 4-9 PM
• Saturday: 4-9 PM

We are striving to make sure we can get the right team members in place so, if you cannot make the weekday shifts, there is not need to apply.

Requirements:

• Minimum 19 years old (or a seriously reliable 18-year-old)
• Two years of food service experience (preferred)
• Able to stand/walk 5-8 hours at a time, and reach, bend, stoop, and clean frequently
• A self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision
• Able to shift focus based on the day’s requirements
• Confidence with food service technology (touch-POS system, credit card reader, mobile ordering system, etc.)
• Excellent communications skills (spoken and written). Food trucks are loud: you must speak clearly and audibly. The ideal candidate is not shy at all and speaks up without being asked.
• Reliable transportation (i.e., have your own vehicle)
• Must have a positive, can-do attitude
• A valid food handler's certificate. (A lapse in certification of one year or less can still be used to prove experience. In that case, if hired, we would cover your re-certification)
• Ability to pass a background check (NON-NEGOTIABLE: we operate on school grounds and military bases)

Responsibilities:

• Food prep and (minimal) cooking
• Manning the smoker/grill
• Greet our guests and provide excellent customer service
• Take accurate food and drink orders on our POS system
• Prepare orders efficiently and correctly
• Pack and bag orders
• Maintain work area for cleanliness and stock materials accordingly
• Comply with all heath regulations
• Clean food truck
