Position Summary:

Provide part-time administrative, bookkeeping/accounting and project support for a busy environmental consulting firm in Kailua, HI. 

Position does NOT have the option for remote hours. Candidate must work from the company office in downtown Kailua, HI. Parking is provided. Part-time hours are negotiable for a set weekly schedule, Monday to Friday during company business hours 8am – 5pm. 

Primary and Essential Responsibilities:

  • General administrative and clerical support for day-to-day office operations; reception/front office duties, manage VoIP programming, distribution of mail/packages, manage supplies, book and track employee travel (neighbor island), and additional tasks as assigned. 
  • Bookkeeping and accounting duties; manage all incoming vendor bills (coding/entry to BQE CORE database), verify expense receipts, monthly reconciliations, invoicing and compiling backup, credit card statements, bank deposits, track COI, etc.
  • Administrative and project support, including, but not limited to, proofreading, word processing, preparing and reviewing spreadsheet tables, copying, collating, and binding reports, and additional project tasks as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education. 
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Job Experience. 
    • 3+ years of in-office work experience related to the primary and essential responsibilities. 
  • Skills/Knowledge. 
    • Competent with general office tasks.
    • Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting.
    • Good decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel) 
    • Able to learn and use other software and web-based business services essential to this position.

Physical Demands: 

  • Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of this position. 
  • Requires considerable sitting, standing, and walking; occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires extensive computer use working indoors under regular office conditions.
