Role Description – Landscape Maintenance Technician & Greenhouse Assistant
To Make Chippewa Valley Growers the best in the industry by any measure by:
Bringing to CVG knowledge of landscape plant care and maintenance techniques along with the ability to carry out landscape maintenance duties including, but not limited to:
Properly pruning trees and shrubs
Cutting back and caring for perennials
Installation of new shrubs, perennials, and annuals in garden beds or planters along with delivery and installation of trees
Installation of rock or mulch in landscaped areas
Working with client’s landscape needs and desires
Working fast and efficiently to maximize customer satisfaction
Researching proper pruning techniques for our region/zone
Shrub, tree, perennial knowledge (what they are, where they should be planted, when they should be pruned or cut back)
Assisting with CVGs Transplant & Retail Season in any area as needed. This will require gaining knowledge of Annuals along with expanding knowledge of Perennials, Shrubs, and Trees. Duties may include but are not limited to watering assistance, seeding, transplant line work, plant maintenance, inventory receiving and storing, IPM assistance, working the retail floor, and developing and leading classes for customers
Assisting with Facility Maintenance and Repairs to keep facility clean, in good repair, hazard free, and ready for each season. Some of these duties include but are not limited to weed control, poly maintenance/replacement on greenhouse roofs or curtains, ground fabric repairs/replacement inside greenhouses and outside areas, equipment repairs, cleaning and sanitizing facility, curb appeal projects, and any other duties as it relates to the facility/buildings.
Assisting with office duties as assigned.... may include but not limited to website maintenance, sign creation/printing, transplant documentation preparation, uniform management, and POS systems.
