Job Title: Mental Health Aide
Location: New Hope and Northeast Minneapolis 
Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Salary Range: $18-22

Job Description
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Aides to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide essential support to individuals facing mental health challenges, working closely with our clinical staff to improve the well-being of our clients. This is a rewarding position for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Aide, you will:

  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for them to express their feelings.
  • Monitor client behavior and progress, noting any changes and reporting them to mental health professionals for timely treatment adjustments.
  • Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Help implement treatment plans under the guidance of mental health professionals, engaging clients in therapeutic interventions.
  • Respond to crisis situations to provide immediate support and ensure client safety until further assistance arrives.
  • Advocate for client needs and rights, ensuring they receive respectful and considerate care.
  • Facilitate group activities and encourage social interactions, promoting a sense of community and peer support.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress to support ongoing treatment and care.

Qualifications

  • Compassion and empathy, with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with clients and collaborating within a team.
  • Excellent observational skills to monitor client behavior effectively.
  • Patience and resilience, with the ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Physical stamina for assisting clients with daily activities, including potential lifting or restraint needs.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a mental health, caregiving, or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
