We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Junior Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team in the Grafton area. This entry-level position is ideal for someone with a basic understanding of mechanical systems and a desire to grow in an industrial maintenance environment. The Junior Maintenance Mechanic will support the repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a variety of high-speed production equipment, including compressors, conveyors, 3-phase motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, liquid fill machines, and more. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-conscious, and eager to learn from experienced maintenance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to compressors, conveyors, 3-phase motors, switches, gauges, and liquid fill machines.
  • Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Work with the maintenance team to address urgent repair needs and resolve mechanical failures promptly.
  • Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement to help enhance production efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to safety standards and company policies.
  • Help maintain accurate maintenance records, documenting repairs, part usage, and completed work.
  • Follow safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety training to promote a safe working environment.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and tools required for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with 3-phase motors, conveyors, compressors, gauges, and similar equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the field of industrial maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, to meet production needs.
