Shift differentials: $0.50 for PM and &1.00 For overnight. Additional hourly compensation for CNAs and TMAs.
General Accountabilities:
- Provide for the daily physical care of residents. Assist residents in getting up, toileting, washing, showering, dressing, grooming, brushing teeth, and with other personal hygiene and assistance needs.
- Medication administration/assistance as delegated by RN.
- Provide an environment that enhances the psychological well being of residents.
- Assist residents with their activities of daily living such as and not limited to; assistance with dressing in the morning and evening, hygiene, toileting assistance, shower assistance, medication administration/assistance as delegated by RN.
- Clean up and tidy resident apartment.
- Review the assigned tasks and service plan for each resident’s care and ensure completion.
- Establish and maintain good relationship with residents and their families.
- Notes changes in a resident’s condition on a day‐to‐day basis and inform management staff of changes.
- Ensure that all systems for providing and tracking resident care are completed in accordance with the residence policies and procedures.
- Be open to filling available shifts based on your availability.
- Ensure required paperwork for providing resident care is completed and up‐to‐date.
- Review daily any and all communication tools used in providing resident care.
- Communicate residents’ needs with caregiver staff at change of shift and as needed
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and documentation on each resident.
- Ability to effectively present information on one‐to‐one and small group situations to customers, residents and other employees of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications:
- Preferred 1 year experience working with older adults, preferably in providing some personal care. Will accept people with no experience. We are willing to train the right person for the position. a CNA is not required for this position.
- Ability to use computers and software applications
- Preferred knowledge of healthcare, dementia care and/or aging issues
- Skilled at establishing trust relationships with customers
- Must be punctual, with a good attendance record.
- Must be mature and emotionally stable using calm and kind tone of voice, remaining calm in difficult or unusual circumstances.
- Promoted independence, not dependence, with residents offering choices and fostering self‐help skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
- Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.
- Must work as a team member with other personnel, supervisor, Director of Health Services, and Executive Director
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to learn and assist in other areas of the facility.
- Must be able to report any unobserved area in poor repair to the Executive Director
- Must be able to report any resident changes to immediate supervisor.
- Must be able to document as required.
- Must be able to report needs of supplies to the Executive Director
- Must follow facility dress code; maintain good personal hygiene and grooming.
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move supplies,
- equipment, and materials weighting approximately 35‐40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and depth perception, the ability to adjust focus.
In a typical eight‐ hour day, employee will:
- Stand/walk up to six hours a day
- Sit up to two hours a day
- Frequently support up to 70 pounds
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 15 pounds
- Frequently kneel, bend, and reach
- Secure proper assistance for transferring and lifting of residents as needed
